The shutdown function is for downgrading a connection from TLS to plain,
and this is not requested here.
Have ssl_close reset the TLS connection state.

Updated terminology in docs, comments and phrases to refer to C strings
as "null-terminated". Done to unify with how most other C oriented docs
refer of them and what users in general seem to prefer (based on a
single highly unscientific poll on twitter).

When cURL is compiled with support for multiple SSL backends, it is
possible to configure an SSL backend via `curl_global_sslset()`, but
only *before* `curl_global_init()` was called.
If another SSL backend should be used after that, a user might be
tempted to call `curl_global_cleanup()` to start over. However, we did
not foresee that use case and forgot to reset the SSL backend in that
cleanup.
Let's allow that use case.

As detailed in DEPRECATE.md, the polarssl support is now removed after
having been disabled for 6 months and nobody has missed it.
The threadlock files used by mbedtls are renamed to an 'mbedtls' prefix
instead of the former 'polarssl' and the common functions that
previously were shared between mbedtls and polarssl and contained the
name 'polarssl' have now all been renamed to instead say 'mbedtls'.

It was used (intended) to pass in the size of the 'socks' array that is
also passed to these functions, but was rarely actually checked/used and
the array is defined to a fixed size of MAX_SOCKSPEREASYHANDLE entries
that should be used instead.

Remove support for, references to and use of "cyaSSL" from the source
and docs. wolfSSL is the current name and there's no point in keeping
references to ancient history.

In Curl_multissl_version() it was possible to overflow the passed in
buffer if the generated version string exceeded the size of the buffer.
Fix by inverting the logic, and also make sure to not exceed the local
buffer during the string generation.

It is allowed to call that function with id set to -1, specifying the
backend by the name instead. We should imitate what is done further down
in that function to allow for that.

The function does not return the same value as snprintf() normally does,
so readers may be mislead into thinking the code works differently than
it actually does. A different function name makes this easier to detect.

Fixed undefined symbol of getenv() which does not exist when compiling
for Windows 10 App (CURL_WINDOWS_APP). Replaced getenv() with
curl_getenv() which is aware of getenv() absence when CURL_WINDOWS_APP
is defined.

Compare these settings in Curl_ssl_config_matches():
- verifystatus (CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYSTATUS)
- random_file (CURLOPT_RANDOM_FILE)
- egdsocket (CURLOPT_EGDSOCKET)
Also copy the setting "verifystatus" in Curl_clone_primary_ssl_config(),
and copy the setting "sessionid" unconditionally.
This means that reusing connections that are secured with a client
certificate is now possible, and the statement "TLS session resumption
is disabled when a client certificate is used" in the old advisory at
https://curl.haxx.se/docs/adv_20170419.html is obsolete.

Ever since 70f1db321 (vtls: encapsulate SSL backend-specific data,
2017-07-28), the code handling HTTPS proxies was broken because the
pointer to the SSL backend data was not swapped between
conn->ssl[sockindex] and conn->proxy_ssl[sockindex] as intended, but
instead set to NULL (causing segmentation faults).
